It’s a panda bento!
For lunch today I packed a panda sandwich, clementines, carrot and celery slices and a few panda friends to sweeten up Cam’s lunch.

For today’s lunch I packed a turkey sandwich stamped & cut to look like a kitty. I also packed Cam what I call, ‘salad on a stick’.
Basically, you take all the makin’s for a salad that you would normally eat & put them on a skewer or food pick. If I add lettuce, I just fold it where it fits nicely on the pick. This is a great way to serve salad to kids. My daughter finds it hard to eat salad with a fork so this way works well for her.
On her salad skewers are tomatoes, olives, carrots & celery. I laid them on top of spinach leaves.
In the other silicone cup are cupcake flavored Goldfish.

Happy Friday!
In today’s bento I packed two sandwiches filled with Jif Hazelnut spread, a cheese stick, grapes, tomatoes, tortilla chips, and a small juice box that fits perfectly in Camryn’s new bento box.

For today’s lunch I made a piggy chicken sandwich and put it in one side of Cam’s bento box. In the other, I loaded it up with fruit and veg. I sliced an apple horizontally and used flower-shaped cookie cutters to make them pretty. You can’t see it in the picture but I used a very teeny flower-shaped cutter to remove the core. I also used a leaf-shaped cutter for the cheese. In the same section, I put celery sticks, pea pods, and grapes.

Isn’t it weird when things just sort of come together on their own? Without meaning to, I created a frog/insect theme for today’s bento.
I cut some carrots into butterfly shapes last night using a small fondant cutter. I also grabbed the first CuteZCute insert that my hand touched this morning when I made Cam’s sandwich and it just happened to be a frog. The first pick I grabbed was also a frog. And lastly, when I tossed in some Cheez-Its, I noticed once they were in the bento that they were Spiderman Cheez-Its. See all the spiders?
There is some sliced celery under the carrot butterflies and the froggy sandwich is filled with sliced chicken.
I wonder if my little miss caught the theme at lunch time today.

In today’s bento, I put a cute kitty sandwich and diced apples in one tier. In the other, I put sliced grape tomatoes & trail mix flavored Chex mix (with the Chex taken out). Cam doesn’t like Chex so I ate them. I also threw in a few chocolate covered almonds.
Once I cut up an apple, I put the pieces right into a bowl of water that I’ve added a couple drops of lemon juice to and let them sit for a minute. This keeps them from turning brown.

Today’s bento has sliced carrots & grape tomatoes in the small section. In the opposite section there is a chicken sandwich (yes chicken) sitting on top of some all natural fruit snacks. I also put some Scrabble Cheez-Its next to the froggy sandwich.
Camryn ate a chicken sandwich on Saturday so I’m hoping she’ll eat it at school as well. Here’s hoping.

Today’s bento has a piggy sandwich in the bottom tier. I had a few heart-shaped sprinkles left in my baking cabinet that I thought would be perfect to spruce him up a bit. The top tier has pineapple & mandarin oranges in the heart-shaped cup, grape tomatoes, and two skewers with salami and mozzarella cheese on them.
If you wondering why I’ve been making so many nutella sandwiches lately, it’s because my daughter has said on many occasions that she does not like sandwiches. I’m trying to change her mind ever so slowly. At first, she was only taking a few bites of her nutella sandwich. Now she eats the whole thing. In time, we’ll slowly warm up to meats and cheeses as well as other fillings.
No school for my kids tomorrow which means not only that we’ll all be sleeping in past 5 tomorrow, yay! But also that Daily Bento will be back on Monday.

We’re back! It’s been a rough few days. The little one has been super sick so she’s been eating mostly veggie soup for lunch. She finally went back to school today after being home for a week so I thought she needed a super special bento for her first day back. Also, my new bento stuff showed up yesterday afternoon. Perfect timing!
Today’s bento has grapes and grape tomatoes with a little mozzarella bunny on one side. On the other side, I made a winky cat head nutella sandwich with my new Cute Z Cute cutters with pink glitter sprinkle ears & a pink sugar nose. It’s sitting on top of Space Adventure Goldfish. She loved it & so did the other kids at her lunch table. Winning!
