Instead of asking Camryn what she wanted for lunch, I asked which lunchbox she wanted her lunch to be packed in.

She went right for her Yubo.

We don’t use it very often simply because I haven’t purchased the drink holder for it yet and it can be tricky to fit a drink inside unless you configure everything just right.

When we do use it, this lunchbox gets so much attention at her lunch table. Especially because it has her name on it. When you’re little, things with your name on them tend to be a pretty big deal. Especially when you have an uncommon name like Cam does.

In today’s lunch:

  • Chocolate hazelnut spread sandwich
  • Pretzel crisps
  • Spinach
  • Carrot sticks
  • Mozzarella cheese slices
  • Pineapple & grapes
  • Juice box

As promised yesterday, I have a new lunchbox to show you.

Yes, another lunch box.

You can’t possibly be surprised at this point.

Or maybe you’re new to this blog. In that case – Hello. Nice to see you, I’m glad you stopped by. Additionally, you should know that I hoard lunch boxes.

I suppose hoarding may be taking it a little too far. Can it actually be called hoarding if all of the lunch containers and bento accessories are neatly organized and out of sight in my kitchen? I mean, no one is having to actually climb over or wade through a mountain of lunch packing accessories to get from the front door to the kitchen so…

Maybe we can just call it a lack of self-control fueled by a deep love of all things bento-related instead.

I do think I’m done buying  lunch boxes for a while though.

Or at least until I can free up some cabinet space.

You know, I hardly use my immersion blender. 😉

Anyway, here’s the latest addition to my ever-growing lunch stash:

Laptop Lunches Bento Lunch Box 2.0 – Garden

Isn’t it bright and cheery?

In this Laptop lunch:

  • Biscoff sandwiches
  • Greek yogurt with goji berries and granola
  • Saltines with tzatziki in the yellow container
  • Pineapple and grapes
  • Napkin and spoon

With the lids on…

and with stickers on top, just because.

So what do we think?

The only thing that I don’t like about the Laptop Lunchbox is that Camryn has a hard time opening the containers inside. I put a little vegetable oil on the rim of each box which did make it much easier for me to open but she still struggled at school. Luckily there are helpers in the lunchroom for just this sort of situation.  This is just one of those things that will be easier for her with practice.

Now, on to a convenient bullet-point list of what we love about it:

  • We ♥ that it’s leak-proof.
  • We ♥ that it’s BPA, PVC & lead free.
  • We ♥ that it’s dishwasher safe & microwave safe.
  • We ♥ the lids on the inner containers.
  • We ♥ that it’s small enough for kids to use but could easily hold enough food for an adult as well.
  • We ♥ that it’s bright and colorful.
  • We ♥ that it’s recycled and recyclable.
  • We ♥ that the food containers are made in the USA.
  • We ♥ that it’s waste-free.
  • I really ♥ that it has a special place for a napkin, spoon, fork, chopsticks, or a cheese stick.

This new lunchbox fits perfectly in Camryn’s insulated lunch bag from Garnet Hill (which is a bit on the larger side) but there wasn’t room for her thermos so I had to put it in the outside pocket. I will probably be buying this in the very near future:

*sigh* I know. The “hoarding” continues.

I know what you’re thinking.

Another lunch in that owl box?

Indeed.

I love this box. I love that it was cheap yet sturdy, BPA free, and dishwasher safe. I love how it seems to be the perfect size for the amount of food Cam eats right now. And I really the owls on top.

Don’t worry though, I have a really cool new lunchbox to share with you tomorrow so the monotony will soon end. 😉

For lunch today however, Cam has a chicken sandwich, veggie chips, fresh pineapple, grapes, and an all-natural cookie.

If you want a Sugarbooger Good Lunch Box owl container of your very own, you can find one here.

This one is also ridiculously cute.

And this one.

It’s Monday. The perfect day for a quick and easy lunch. Even though this lunch doesn’t look simple or like it came together quickly, it really did. From start to finish, today’s lunch only took me about 5 minutes to pack.

The kids had pizza for dinner last night and they both asked for the leftovers to be put in their lunches today. Personally, I don’t care for cold pizza but the kids love it and that makes things easy for me so pizza it is.

Once their pizza had completely cooled, I cut a slice into bite-sized pieces and included a couple of elephant picks to make it easier for my little one to keep her hands clean. I also added some raw spinach, an all-natural chocolate chip cookie, grapes, and a few pieces of fresh pineapple with her nickname in picks. She also has some iced green tea in her thermos to drink.

April showers make for gloomy pictures.

I won’t complain, this is my favorite part of spring. In this area, the earliest part of spring greets us with an over abundance of bugs that fly around and sting you. Bees, wasps, and hornets all come out in full force come mid-March.

That random bit of information brings me to a story now because it relates to the topic of flying, stinging bugs and had I not seen it for myself, I would have never believed it to be true.

My husband and I were walking out of a restaurant after breakfast one morning. As we rounded the corner and headed out into the parking lot we passed a wall of shrubs. The biggest hornets you’ve ever seen in all your days were flying all over the place and one just so happened to fly toward my husband’s face. Without hesitation, he grabbed that hornet out of the sky with his bare hand and threw it on the ground!

Who does that?

Crazy people… that’s who.

Also, people lookin’ to get stung – that’s who too!

How he managed to come away from that situation without meeting the business end of a hornet I’ll never know.

I don’t much care for stinging bugs so it’s nice to know that I married someone who will vanquish them without hesitation for me.

Anyway, the bees, wasps, and hornets haven’t been around so much in the last few days so I’m thinking that I’ve made it safely through another year. Although my little friend Noah was just stung in the armpit yesterday so maybe my relief is premature.

I should probably give it a few more days before I declare an official victory.

For lunch today Cam has a panda sandwich in a fancy hat filled with Biscoff, two cheese flowers, organic strawberries, and veggie chips.

Happy Weekend! 😉

Because I need another lunch box like I need a kick in the teeth…

Although this one was so cute, I couldn’t pass it up.

I found it on Amazon and had to have it. I have a thing for whimsical owls. I love ’em. They remind me of Camryn.

Confused?

Lemme explain:

Her Father picked out her name and before she was born, I started referring to her as “Ryn” or “Rynie” which sounds a lot like “wren” to me so her nursery was done in a bird theme and pretty much everything that belonged to her had birds on it. It’s still that way, birds have sort of become her trademark.

And because it’s an absolute fact of life that owls are super smart and she’s super smart, owls remind me of her. Hence, the owl lunch box.

I hope all that rambling makes sense.

It today’s super simple lunch Cam has a Biscoff kitty sandwich, a sliced mozzarella cheese stick, veggie chips, and grapes.

Another lunch in our LunchBots Trio!

For lunch today I used our FunBites Cube It! to cut a chicken sandwich into fun, bite-sized cubes. I also filled up Camryn’s Lunchbots Trio with cherry tomatoes, carrot coins, broccoli, grapes, veggie chips, and a sliced mozzarella stick.

Cam eats like a little bird (honestly, I wonder how she survives sometimes) so there was enough food leftover for her to eat for snack this afternoon.

Lunch today is in our new Lunchbots container that Camryn picked out.

So far we’re really liking our new container. The size is just right for the amount of food that she eats and I love the way the box is divided. My only complaint is that Camryn has a hard time opening it. I wondered about this before I bought it. Luckily, there is a lunch room helper at her school to help her if she needs it.

Camryn has four chicken sandwiches, veggie chips, carrot coins, mozzarella cheese, grapes, and cherry tomatoes.
